Saint Emilion is located 22 miles North East of Bordeaux and is one of Bordeaux’s largest producing appellations. North West of St Emilion is Pomerol.

The landscape around the pretty town of St Emilion contains steep limestone slopes which is best suited to Merlot. However Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc are among other varieties grown in the various St Emilion vineyards.
